Radical Environmentalists and Biden Administration Plot to Strip Americans' Hunting and Fishing Rights

The Biden administration, in partnership with radical environmental groups, is allegedly attempting to ban hunting and fishing across significant parts of the US. This move would strip Americans of their rights to engage in these activities on federal land.

The Center for Biological Diversity, a wealthy environmental group that advocates for strict federal wildlife protections, sued the government over a Trump administration rule that expanded hunting and fishing on 2.3 million acres across 147 wildlife refuges and national fish hatcheries. Instead of defending the rule, the Biden administration asked the court to delay proceedings in the case in February 2022.

In November of that year, the Biden administration agreed to a settlement with the Center for Biological Diversity that requires the government to take extensive measures to protect wildlife "harmed by expanded hunting and fishing" on national wildlife refuges. Under the settlement, the Federal Fish and Wildlife Services promised to expand lead ammunition prohibitions across various federal refuge properties beginning in 2026 as part of the 2023-2024 annual rule expected to be proposed in May.

The Federal Fish and Wildlife Services is now reportedly ready to act on these bans, including the banning of lead ammunition and fishing tackle. This move is seen as a backdoor ban on hunting and fishing on federal land, which is a significant chunk since the federal government owns 28% of the land in America.

The vice president of government affairs for the Sportsmen’s Alliance, a pro-hunting group, Todd Adkins, stated in an interview with Fox News that this is a ban because raising the cost of hunting and fishing would make it more expensive for people to engage in these activities, resulting in fewer people doing so.

The International Order of T. Roosevelt (IOTR), a group that promotes hunting and fishing, has a plan to counter the Biden administration's efforts to ban hunting and fishing. IOTR's executive director, Luke Hilgeman, told Fox News that his group would lead an effort to get constitutional amendments on the ballot in states that do not have hunting and fishing as a state right. The group is looking to secure Americans’ rights to hunt and fish in all 27 states that don’t currently have this right.
