Jack Smith Could Face Indictment Charges after Evidence Omission: Dershowitz
In a recent interview on The Megyn Kelly Show, well-known attorney Alan Dershowitz expressed concern about the possibility of Special Counsel Jack Smith facing indictment charges for omitting favorable evidence in a crucial case.
Dershowitz's statements have further intensified the already contentious legal battles surrounding former President Donald Trump's alleged involvement in the January 6th Capitol riot.
Dershowitz did not hold back when accusing Jack Smith of intentionally leaving out crucial information in the indictment. He told host Megyn Kelly that Smith's actions could even make him subject to indictment himself, as he believes Smith directly lied in the indictment.
According to a Breitbart report, Dershowitz also cautioned that Jack Smith left out key words from President Trump's speech on January 6th, where Trump had said, "I want you to demonstrate peacefully and patriotically." He considered this omission as a serious lie under the law, equating it to a lie by commission.
Dershowitz's remarks have raised serious doubts about Smith and the Biden-led DOJ, with Republicans alleging intentional interference in the 2024 presidential election since Trump is Biden's main opponent.
Prominent GOP lawmakers, including Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., took to Twitter to criticize the charges against Trump, suggesting that Biden's DOJ is involved in a coverup.
Similarly, Dershowitz expressed his belief that the Supreme Court would likely overturn any potential conviction against Trump. During an interview with Fox News's Sean Hannity, he predicted that Trump would probably win in the United States Supreme Court.
In the same interview, Dershowitz challenged the allegations in the 45-page indictment, stating that there is no smoking gun and no credible witness prepared to testify that Donald Trump admitted losing the election.
