Acquitted AG Ken Paxton Gives Biden Ultimatum: ‘Buckle Up’

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who recently emerged victorious in a contentious impeachment trial, issued a stern warning to President Joe Biden, pledging to contest what he described as "unlawful policies."

Following his acquittal, Paxton released a press statement in which he bluntly criticized the impeachment proceedings, portraying them as a politically motivated assault orchestrated by the Biden administration.

In a direct challenge to President Biden, Paxton cautioned, "Prepare yourself because we will not allow your unlawful policies to go unanswered. We are determined to safeguard the constitution and protect the rights of Texas residents. You will be held responsible."

Paxton made these statements following his acquittal by the Texas Senate in a well-known impeachment trial that lasted for ten days. In his earlier comments, Paxton explicitly accused the Biden administration of initiating what influential Republican figures characterized as a witch hunt.

Paxton asserted, "The counterfeit impeachment, orchestrated by the Biden Administration in tandem with liberal House Speaker Dade Phelan and his biased tribunal, has incurred millions of dollars in taxpayer expenses, disrupted the Office of Attorney General's operations, and left an enduring blemish on the Texas House."

He further added, "Manipulating the impeachment process to settle political disputes is not just misguided; it is unethical and corrupt."

Paxton, who had been facing allegations of political misconduct, expressed gratitude towards those who stood by him during the trial. He remarked, "Now that this disgraceful process has concluded, I will resume my efforts to protect our constitutional rights. I want to extend my thanks to everyone who supported us during this period."

Paxton's attorney, Tony Buzbee, echoed these sentiments and vigorously defended his client during the impeachment proceedings. Buzbee exclaimed, "There is a sense of disgrace here, and that disgrace rests squarely on those who brought this case to this chamber without any evidence."

He went on to say, "I take immense pride in representing Attorney General Ken Paxton. If this could happen to him, it could happen to anyone."
